Things to Do in Rincon

 

...This is the center of beach life in Puerto Rico.  Rincón where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean to create world-class surfing ...  the focus here is easily the beach.  Besides enjoying the comfort of your private beachfront Villa, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy or help you relax.  The ideas below are just a sampling of things to do and where to go.  We have a more complete listing in our Sunset Paradise Guidebooks located in each unit

 

 

 

 

  • Relaxing/Laying on the Beach

Relax on the golden sandy beach just outside your villa, or snooze the day away in your own hammock over looking the ocean.

  • Scuba Dive

There are a number of great local dive shops, ready to serve you.   They will be listed in our Sunset Paradise Villas Guidebook in your villa.  Diving at Desecheo Island is not to be missed and is a short boat ride away.  Our recommendation is Taino Divers.

  • Deep-Sea Fishing

  • Tennis

Excellent public courts are just minutes away, or experience playing tennis with ocean views on top of the mountain

  • Sight See

The entire island has historic sites and natural wonders to explore

  • Explore the Rain Forest

El Yunque is the only Tropical rain forest in the US Forest Service.  More Information about El Yunque 

  • Parasailing

  • Shopping

Puerto Rico has it all, from quaint local shops to the largest mall in the Caribbean

  • Swimming

We are on the best swim beach available, just outside your villa

  • Watch the Sunsets

Make it a daily ritual. Enjoy a margarita, or your own special rum drink at the best place in town, your own private oceanfront patio. Every sunset is different, so see them all

  • Gambling

Like to try your luck? Mayaguez is just 15 minutes away

  • Snorkeling/Reefs

You can start right outside your home.  Not a lot of coral, but normally the fish hang out at the rock ledge.  You will find good coral reefs from the Marina to the lighthouse, but some of the best is at Steps Beach or charter a boat to take you to Desecheo Island.  See our Sunset Paradise Villas Guidebook for more information, Caution, Don't mess with Elkhorn coral reefs! If you break, take or damage Elkhorn corals, like those found in the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, you can spend six months in the pokey and have to pony up $25,000 in fines.

  • Horse-Back Ride

Enjoy a scenic ocean side trail ride. Try Tropical Trails Ride or Pintos R Us

  • Restaurants

  • Whale Watch

Whales travel here to give birth. This happens during the winter (normally February) and one of the best places to watch is on your oceanfront patio. It is an amazing sight!

  • Sailing

Learn to Sail or Charter a Sailing Boat You decide.  The cruise the waters just outside your villa

  • Surf

We are on the best "swim beach", but the "surf" side is just minutes away.  Rincon is known to have some of the best surfing.   • Cave Exploration

Rio Camuy Caves has the third largest underground river.  They are well known, and worth the trip. Check out pictures of the cavern

  • Golf

  • Get Married

  • Walking or Beach Combing
  • Get up early and stroll the beach while your coffee is brewing.  It is a great way to get your exercise, relax, enjoy the beauty of the ocean and the life-style of living on the beach.  My wife always brings back lots of sea glass and shells!  Some guests make jewelry with the collected sea glass.  Contact Sue Gray Sea Glass to see beautiful jewelry made with glass collected from our beach just outside the Villas!

  • Massage
  • The best way to relax!
