Rincón is a municipality of Puerto Rico founded in 1771 by Don Luis de Añasco and is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Caribbean. The word “Rincón” means “corner” or “niche”, a fitting description for this area located in the Western Coastal Valley. The town is located right on the dividing line where the Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans meet, creating a great surf and swell at one end, while the South end remains calm and great for swimming and relaxing.
Known as both “Pueblo del Surfing,” or the surfing town, and “El Pueblo de los Bellos Atardeceres,” or the town of beautiful sunsets, the town of Rincon boasts a population of around 15,000 people. It is home to Domes Beach, where the World Surfing Championship took place in 1968 and subsequently put Rincon on the map. Numerous beach-themed bars and restaurants and surf stores dot the coastlines of the town, which hosts thousands of surfing participants and spectators each year. Other beaches include Marias, Tres Palmas, Sandy Beach, Pools Beach, Rincon Town Beach Plaza and beautiful Córcega Beach… where our Villas are located.
Rincon’s major industry is tourism, and while the language of Puerto Rico is overall Spanish, many people in Rincon speak English. The locals of Rincon are fun-loving, good-natured, very friendly and generous with their hospitality and are fiercely proud of their local heritage. This relaxed lifestyle and air of friendliness, along with breathtaking sunsets and expanses of white sandy beaches, make Rincon a pleasant and comfortable island venue for those who are seeking an escape to paradise.
